At Semble, we believe that a strong culture is the backbone of any successful organisation. But what exactly makes our culture unique?
This question led us to create Semble’s Culture Code—a set of guiding principles that reflect who we are and how we work together.
In this article, our VP of People, Yssine Matola, talks in more depth about our 'Collaboration' driver, and what this means for the work we do at Semble.
At Semble, one of the first things new joiners say they notice is the people: they are collaborative, generous with their time and genuinely care about each other. Everyone is here to build something meaningful and we do it together.
In Semble’s Culture Code, collaboration is summarised as ‘We’re in it together’. This reflects theinclusive environment we work in, where people share knowledge, care for and help others. But what does that look like day-to-day?
Rather than simply describing what collaboration means at Semble, we thought the best way to capture its spirit was to let our team share their own experiences.
So, here’s what collaboration actually feels like at Semble, from the people who build it, sell it and deliver it.
"Collaboration means delivering when it matters most."
Semble recently had the opportunity to pitch for the business of an acute care centre. These centres are important to the communities in which they operate, because they often act as an emergency centre when no other resources are available.
The demo we presented to them was particularly complex. The more intricate the business, the more moving parts Semble needs to accommodate with its interoperability engine. Time was of the essence, so the team were quick to mobilise: developers ensured AI prototypes were ready; integrations built the tools needed for tracking room usage; and our product and data teams created tailored demos for doctors and admin staff.
Everyone came together, working across teams and stepping out of their comfort zones to deliver for the client when it mattered most.
To me, collaboration at Semble means uniting around a shared mission, taking action and doing whatever it takes, especially when our work directly impacts healthcare professionals and the communities they serve.
Mikael Landau, Co-Founder and CTO
"Collaboration is diverse minds solving problems."
Collaboration is vital for the role of Delivery Managers at Semble.By leveraging diverse skills and perspectives, we can optimise team performance, improve project outcomes and ensure the smoothest possible delivery process. That is why it’s so important to build teams with a wide range of backgrounds and expertise, so that collectively the most effective solution to a problem can be found.
The benefits of collaboration are evidenced during our post-mortems, when different skill sets come together to solve a problem under time pressure. Often, the initial suggestion is not the one that solves the issue; it’s the collective discussion and different points of view that ultimately result in the most effective solution.
We are lucky here in Semble to have such a collaborative culture, as it makes turning up to work every day very much a pleasure rather than a chore.
Dionne Hairsine, Head of Delivery
"Collaboration means stepping in when it really counts."
Even when I’m deep in my own work, if something critical for our clients or the company comes up, I’ll jump in, even if it means learning a new skill on the spot or flying last-minute to another country. I’m always happy to drop everything to help solve an incident or run a client training call last minute if a teammate is unable to.
For me, collaboration is about showing up for the team and doing whatever it takes to deliver on our promises. Especially when it directly impacts the experience we give our users.
If you need me and you think I can do it, I will be there.
Jess Magri, Senior Product Adoption Manager
"Collaboration is how we turn ideas into reality."
Marketing thrives on teamwork, and the best ideas tend to take shape through collective creativity. You take a grain of sand into a marketing meeting and walk out with a boulder.
The best thing about Semble is the expertise level of every team member. Success comes from working together and understanding the role we each play to bring the product to life. I’m constantly impressed by my colleagues; no question is too big (or too silly). It’s this culture of support and knowledge-sharing that makes collaboration much easier. We rely on each other. And when that all comes together - that's when the magic happens.
Pascale Day, Content Marketing Manager
Collaboration at Semble is how we do our best work: together. It’s about open communication, embracing our differences and holding ourselves accountable for the impact we have.
We work together to solve challenges, support each other and learn from our mistakes, knowing that our diversity and willingness to help one another makes us stronger.
Our ways of working mean you’ll find people who are approachable and ready to answer any question. You’ll experience a culture where every voice matters, feedback is valued and we care for each other’s wellbeing. We trust our team members to take ownership, communicate honestly and always look out for the bigger picture.
We’re proud of what we’ve built, and we’re always looking for new team members who share our cultural drivers. If this sounds like the culture for you, we’d love to hear from you.
